- From The Costume of China. Illustrated in forty-eight coloured engravings. Published by William Miller, London, 1805. When the wind was favourable, the driver would use a sail to ease his burden. On the cart are vegetables; fruit; loose bamboos, and a jar of wine. On the side of the carriage, are placed his hat, and implements for keeping the sail in order.
