A view of the Great South Taku (Dagu) Fort, showing its defences towards the sea & the river and the scene of the unsuccessful attack by the flotilla of gunboats under the command of Admiral Hope in 1859. Panoramic view composed of three joined prints, taken from the battlements of the South Taku Fort. The interior of the fort is shown, with the quarters of the Chinese garrison.
