Summary:

North Taku (Dagu) Fort, taken by the Allied Army on the 21st of August 1860. Showing the point where the French storming party entered. Exterior view of the wall of the fort, with wooden stakes in foreground and ladders leaned up against the breach in the wall. This is Print 12 in the published catalogue of Beato's China views, and is there titled 'Angle of North Fort at which the French entered, Aug. 21, 1860.'.
