Can be performed with a variable number of brass players; the usual number will be the normal complement in the opera-house orchestra: 3 trumpets, 4 horns, 3 trombones. Maybe be played with three players (one trumpet, one horn, one trombone) to as many as 16 players (for the Detroit Opera House opening, 9 trumpets were used).
