This case explains how John Scott Kirby, CEO of United Airlines, tried to combat the talent shortage in July 2022. The U.S. airline industry faced its worst pilot shortage in decades, forcing companies to reduce flights, even though travel demand had increased after the COVID-19 pandemic.
