Summary:
Lynn Meyers looked at the consultant's report on her desk and wondered aloud "How am I going to address this?" She had just come from a Moving Machine (MM) executive team meeting, where she learned from Chief Executive Officer Manuel Norstra that he had received a consultant's report that emphasized strategic and tactical improvements needed in MM's recruitment and selection of employees. The company sought an effective business strategy and operational renewal to ensure it remained a competitive, sustainable, profitable, and impactful business that sold and leased equipment to transport products. As Director of HR, Culture, and Integrity, Meyers was responsible for the Human Resources function and was tasked with leading the refresh. It was now up to Meyers to devise a new staffing path and method of approach for MM. She had several ideas on the matter, including ensuring that staffing practices were linked to the company values as well as motivating greater action and accountability for equity, diversity, and inclusion. However, she now needed to prepare the ideas on paper and present them back to the executive team.
