- Summary:
- The focus of this case study will be to explore the role of conducting prison research from an intersectional framework to contribute to the Decolonization dialogue. Drawing on two-year research on the role of food in women's prisons, this case study will examine the realities and complexities of conducting research on prison life. The author will provide a breakdown on some of successes from this project as well as the challenges and how the research team overcome them. Further to this, the case study will examine the importance of using an intersectional framework when adopting multidisciplinary methods that are both innovative and creative. Lastly, this case study will examine the ethical and practical considerations on researching vulnerable groups on the matters surrounding food in prison.
