Malter's interleaved copy of the then most-recent edition of Saʻadia ben Joseph's Amānāt wa-al-iʻtiqādāt, in the Hebrew translation by Yehudah ibn Tibbon (Kraków: Fischer & Weindling, 1880); Malter marked variants in the printed text (either in-line or in the margins) and spelled out each variant on facing interleaves, comparing variants from manuscripts Catalogue De-Rossi, Parma, Italy 83 (this manuscript copy written in Chieri, Italy, during the 15th century; Malter copied the manuscript colophon on f. 210r on the inside corner) and Catalogue De-Rossi, Parma, Italy 417 (this manuscript copy written in Sisteron in Provence, dated Thursday, 20 Adar II, 5293 (21 March 1433; colophon on f. 210r). Some notes were written by Moritz Steinschneider (such as f. 7r), and others in a different cursive hand in pencil (possibly Alexander Marx). Malter studied in Berlin with Steinschneider between 1890-1899 (see: Mykytiuk, Lawrence J. "Malter, Henry (23 March 1864?-04 April 1925), scholar, author, and teacher." American National Biography).
