- Biography/History:
- Student poet and Hebraic linguist, Kaunas, likely at the Schwabe Gimnasia in Kaunas (known in Lithuanian as the Kauno žydų gimnazija or the Švabės hebrajų gimnazija; based on the poetic themes and the languages in the work); her German autograph on f. 58r, Yiddish autograph on f. 24v, and Hebrew and German inscriptions on both endpapers.

- Student poetry book of Chaje Alter, reflecting a modern Zionistic curriculum; the table of contents (f. 1v-2r) precedes the text, which opens with the Song of Solomon translated (on opposing folio side) to Yiddish, and continuing with Hebrew poetry (with author citation following each poem; authors such as Juda Löb Bensew (f. 13v), Ze'ev Yavetz (f. 17r), Aharon Rosenfeld (f. 18r), Judah Leib Gordon (f. 22r), Sara Schapira (f. 27r), Aharon Eliyahu Pompeiansky (f. 28r), Salomon Mandelkern (f. 32r), Menahem Mendel Dolitzky (f. 32v), Avraham Eliyahu Sandler (f. 41r), Yonah Gerstein (f. 43r), Abraham Goldfaden (f. 48v), Isaac Leib Peretz (f. 50v), and Avraham Dov Lifshitz (f. 55r). Printed sources include the periodicals Ha-melits and Ha-shaḥar; written in a cursive script.
