Natalie Czechs neue Werkgruppe trägt den Titel to icon und untersucht, wie etwas zum Icon wird. Sie richtet ihr Augenmerk auf alltägliche Piktogramme, visuelle Kommunikationskürzel im Zwischenraum von Bild und Text. "Czech sammelt Begriffsfelder, die ein Icon abdeckt, und inszeniert das semantische Feld in einem Foto. Dafür fotografiert sie Kleidungsstücke und Accessoires im Stil von Mode- und Produktfotografie, liest die Form eines Icons in Umrisse, Falten oder Nähte der Objekte hinein? und appliziert sie jeweils direkt aufs Foto. Da Bedeutung und Gebrauch eines Icons in digitalen Anwendungen variieren, fügt die Künstlerin den fotografierten Objekten, wie bei Waren üblich, eine Art Produktlabel hinzu: Draw / Drafts / Draft Reviews / Write a Review / Update Info / Edit / Text // Wrong?"
