- Summary:
- Through interviews with experts, we take a closer look at the life of writer Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer. The documentary paints a picture that is far from the romantic myth that traditionally surrounds this giant of Spanish literature. It confronts head on the more controversial aspects of his life: his direct involvement in the tumultuous politics of 19th Century Spain, for example. But even as it unveils Bécquer's lesser-known, darker past, the movies places him firmly in literary context as one of the most innovative authors of his time.
