Summary:
Elderly nobleman Alonso Quijano, driven mad by reading too many romances, decides to become a knight errant and leaves his village seeking adventure, accompanied by Sancho Panza as his squire. After a series of disastrous episodes, the Knight's friends persuade him to return home, where he regains his sanity and renounces his books on chivalry before his death.
