Summary:
In 1927, a group of pioneering poets alternated late night parties in Seville, nocturnal sailing excursions along the Guadalquivir river and a visit to a mental hospital with the reading of their own or Gongora's poems. The names of these men went down in history as the great poets of their time: Lorca, Alberti, Cernuda, Guillén, Dámaso Alonso, Gerardo Diego, etc. This is how the Generation of '27 was born. In "Veintisiete" ("Twenty-seven), we tell this story, among others, speaking about the past but also about the future, through three intertwined stories. The historical story, through interviews with the most renowned experts. The present story, following some young poets who travel to the Athenaeum from different cities to pay tribute to their masters. And the most special of all, the spiritual portrait through a fictional character, called Beltrán España. This fictional young man, who was born in Spain in 1900, has a special and unique quality: throughout his life he has dealt casually with the great poets of 1927, and through his eyes we can see that poetry is, without a doubt, a tool to change the world. Sometimes a few verses describe a country. That is the greatness of the poets of '27.
