Summary:
When researchers asked employees what their supervisor could do to help alleviate the uncertainty that arose from the pandemic, the data revealed five categories of actions managers can take to help workers cope. The study also found that different employees want different kinds of support delivered in different ways during a crisis, including some that managers can't realistically provide. Consequently, managers must prioritize two behaviors: individualized consideration and building trust.
