- Summary:
- Fal Frett, one of the first Martinican groups of progressive Creole music, after Marius Cultier and Alain Jean-Marie's Liquid Rock. The group was formed in 1976 by Jacky, Alex, and Nicol Bernard with Bib Monville, Jacky Alpha then Ralph Thamar. At its inception, Fal Frett was considered a dynamic Caribbean jazz group; but Jacky Bernard, the main composer, intended to create Creole songs, while leaving plenty of room for improvisation and collective creation. Fal Frett became a reference group throughout the Caribbean and also in France in the Caribbean community.
