- In the search for a genetic cause for heart disease, doctors at the Cleveland Clinic conducted a study of the Steffensens, a large Iowa family, many of whose members had suffered heart attacks. In the course of the study a key discovery was made --a majority of the Steffensens have a defective gene which predisposes them to heart attacks. Includes interviews with: Dr. Eric Topol, chairman of cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic and members of the Steffensen family.
