A two-volume work that constitutes an exhaustive study of the most important satirical magazines of the Porfiriato and its collaborators, especially El Hijo del Ahuizote. Rafael Barajas exposes the historical evolution of Daniel Cabrera, the Flores Magon brothers, Juan Sarabia, among others; This was done in the context of the publications and cartoons of different newspapers. This first volume analyzes the historical context of the late 19th century and the conditions that made possible the creation of the fierce seminary. A good number of testimonies and caricatures are collected that give an account of the Mexican political scenario in the consolidation of the regime of President Porfirio Diaz.
