Recognized for his unmistakable visual language and his outstanding teaching career, Francisco Castro Leñero (Mexico City, 1954-2022) emerged on the Mexican art scene in the late 1970s. His proposal is based on rectilinear patterns and a sober chromatic palette whose reductive propensity is linked to the currents of constructivism, conceptualism, minimalism, informalism and geometric abstraction. Behind a presumed coldness, in the work of Francisco Castro Leñero there is a hidden beauty that is characterized by its expressiveness of sensory effects
