Summary:
Indomitable (adj.)1630s, "that cannot be tamed or subdued," from Late Latin indomitabilis "untameable," from in- "not, opposite of, without" (see in- (1)) + *domitabilis, from Latin domitare, frequentative of domare "to tame" (see tame (adj.)). In reference to persons or personal qualities, "unyielding, persistent, resolute," by 1830. Related: Indomitably, also from 1630s. Latina and Chicana feminist editorial endeavors are at the center of making community: in both critical and creative anthologies and in journals. Cristina Herrera and Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs have created the space and gathered together these voices-these abundant narratives of Latina lives. This collection follows in the tradition of This Bridge Called My Back and Chicana Creativity and Criticism.
