Summary:
A few years ago, overweight Americans turned to Fen-Phen, a new drug prescribed to help people take off pounds virtually effortlessly. In 1997, after millions had taken the drug, the government pulled fenfluramine, a component of Fen-Phen, from the shelves after learning about the drug's serious side effects. An investigation by 60 MINUTES II and U.S. &. News & World Report reveals that the maker of fenfluramine knew about the dangers years before it was taken off the market.
