- A panoramic look at the artistic work of Alberto Borea Labarthe (1979 - 2020, lived and worked in Berlin, New York City and Lima), an artist who experimented with various media and art forms (video, photography, painting, collage, installation, performance, sculpture, as well as poetry and music). By combining language and found objects in his paintings and installations, he altered and re contextualized their meanings, while opening a space for an existential discourse, where poetry, humor and socio-political ideas coexist. The artist's body appears repeatedly in his photographic and videographic work, which has a clear basis in the "Body Art" of the 1960s and 1970s. This retrospective brings together everything from his early work -from his student years- to his last pieces, including the last sculpture he made during his lifetime.
