Summary:
This book studies ten buildings in the city of Lima that are representative of the architecture of the second half of the 20th century in Peru. Through critical analysis and detailed reading, one can understand the development of the architectural form and composition. To this end, the book has 200 drawings including planimetry, isometries, diagrams and study diagrams, as well as critical texts on the buildings studied and the modern architecture of Peru and Latin America. The cases analyzed are: the building La Fénix Peruana (1945-1948, Enrique Seoane), the building Guzmán Blanco (1952, Manuel Villarán), the Department of Architecture of the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, UNI (1951-1953, Mario Bianco), the building of Seguros Atlas (1953-1955, José Álvarez Calderón y Walter Weberhofer), the Chávez house (1958, Miguel Rodrigo), the central building of the Banco Central de Reserva del Perú, BCRP (1966-1975, Manuel Llanos y Luis Tapia), the building Ajax-Hispania (1980-1983, Emilio Soyer), the housing proj.
