Imprints vary; other names include: Robert Ibbitson, John Clowes; from Jan. 1651-May 1655 the usual printer was Francis Neile; from May-Sept. 1655 the printer was A. Neile, probably Francis Neile's widow.
Some imprints lacking.
After two false starts the newsbook began continuous publication in Dec. 1650; "when it came back, it was for almost five years of continuous existence." Cf. Frank.
Gaps in publication: 23 July to 1 Oct. 1650; 29 Oct. to 31 Dec. 1650; 4 Jan.-15 Feb. 1653.
Series 1, Numb. 1 repeated in numbering; issues 3-6 [ser. 1] misnumbered 2-5.
Numbering begins again in a second series with no. 1 in issue for 31 Dec., 1651.
With minor numbering irregularities beforehand, the numbering from Jan. 1654 to Sept. 1655 is seriously irregular.
