One of the two oldest provincial papers in Lincolnshire; driven out of business by: Howgrave's Stamford Mercury, in 1732. Although the second title is sometimes considered to be a continuation of the first, they were competitors. Cf. Wiles, Cranfield.
Later issues include bills of mortality and the printers' list of new books above imprint on title page.
