Title from caption.
Imprint from undated colophon.
Two issues, numbered 272 and 273 and bearing the imprint "sold by John Baker" were issued as rivals to this Morphew continuation. Anne Baldwin printed a further rival series which began with no. 1 (13 Jan. 1711) and ceased with no. 6 (30 Jan. 1711) and on 3 Feb. 1711 she apparently became an alternative printer to the John Morphew series, with the same text and numbering for no. 285-330 (cf. NCBEL).
Numb. 279 is "By Mrs. Jenny Distaff, Half-Sister to Mr. Bickerstaff".
Contributions also attributed to Congreve and Henley.
Numbering continues from Addison and Steele's issues of 'The Tatler'.
The first issue includes the content of the first two numbers and is so designated.
