Summary:

Broncia Koller-Pinell was one of the few women artists to have a presence in the international exhibitions of Viennese Modernism. By the age of twenty-seven, she was already exhibiting at the Vienna Künstlerhaus. Her greatest successes came later with the Kunstschau group founded by Gustav Klimt. By including Broncia Koller-Pinell's artistic milieu, we can trace her stylistic development from the late nineteenth-century Impressionism of the Munich School to New Objectivity in the 1920s. Interactions and influences will be demonstrated in the paintings and graphic art by artists such as Robin Christian Andersen, Anton Faistauer, Albert Paris Gütersloh, Carl Hofer, Koller-Pinell's daughter Silvia Koller, Koloman Moser, Egon Schiele, Heinrich Schröder, and Franz von Zülow. The exhibition will also explore the role of Broncia Koller-Pinell and her husband Hugo Koller as patrons of the arts.0//0Broncia Koller-Pinell war wie nur wenige Künstlerinnen im internationalen Ausstellungsbetrieb der Wiener Moderne präsent. Bereits mit 27 Jahren zeigte sie Bilder im Wiener Künstlerhaus. Ihre größten Erfolge feierte sie in der von Gustav Klimt gegründeten Kunstschaugruppe. Mithilfe der Einbeziehung des künstlerischen Umfelds von Broncia Koller-Pinell lässt sich ihre stilistische Entwicklung vom Impressionismus der Münchner Schule des späten 19. Jahrhunderts bis zu den neusachlichen Tendenzen der 1920er-Jahre nachvollziehen. Wechselwirkungen und Einflüsse werden anhand von Gemälden und Grafiken von Künstler*innen wie Robin Christian Andersen, Anton Faistauer, Albert Paris Gütersloh, Carl Hofer, Koller-Pinells Tochter Silvia Koller, Koloman Moser, Egon Schiele, Heinrich Schröder und Franz von Zülow dargestellt.
