- In this manuscript there are many passages, most of them short and of little significance, which do not appear in the 1875 edition of the 'Autobiography'. Some of these passages, however, are longer and of more substance. Conversely, one or two passages in the 1875 edition do not occur in this manuscript, e.g., at pages 82, 83, 103, and 122. There are also some minor discrepancies in the arrangement of material and in the actual text between this manuscript and the printed edition.
