- Transcript of an interview with Jenny Heslop of Stanley, 31 October 2004 CMOHP021 Jane E. Taggart (1927- ) was born in Stanley, into a family of 14 children, and lived there all her life. She married Atherley Heslop (1918-1984), a coal miner, in 1949. She talks about her family, her father's work on his allotment, air raids while at school, life in a big family, her mother's clothes and mat making, various jobs including working in service at Wykeham Abbey, her husband's work in the collieries and later as night watchman at the Ever Ready factory, his pit clothes, washday, raising five daughters, shops in Stanley (1 pdf file)
