Summary:
Ann Prest records details of social engagements in and around Bedale, visiting friends and family and receiving visits from them, attending church, occasional walking and visits to the assembly. She records the illness of 'little Billy' in June, the birth of a son to her sister Prest in July, and presumably this child's christening in August. There are blank pages in October. She takes a trip away in November, but does not visit London this year. Wider events do not generally feature in this diary, but she notes the death of the Princess of Wales on 7 February.
