Summary:
Lecture performance by visual artist, writer and editor Verónica Gerber Bicecci (b. Mexico City, 1960) that was presented at the Siqueiros Public Art Room in August and September 2022. Script, visuals, props and installation design by Vernonia Gerber Biceci, acting and stage direction by Belén Chávez and live sound, design and sound direction by Enrique Arriaga. "An art historian attends an academic event in the mural courtyard of the Sala de Arte Pública Siqueiros. She reads a paper about "Brasa viva" [Hot Coal], the unfinished manuscript of a play that David Alfaro Siqueiros began to write in Lecumberri penitentiary and its surprising connections to the mural "Marcha de la humanidad hacia la revolución del future" [The March of Humanity Toward the Future Revolution] and the easel painting "Aeronave atómica" [Atomic Airship]. While the characters in Siqueros's play travel through an apocalyptic storm in search of the lighthouse of the new world, the art historian suffers an acute attack of vertigo." --Author's webpage.
