- The book is a literary tribute to the artistic and cultural contribution of the internationally renowned painter and sculptor Antonio López Sáenz (Mazatlán, Mexico 1936-2023), who was also a teacher, cultural promoter and active member of various institutions, including, El Colegio de Sinaloa. All participants are members of El Colegio de Sinaloa, and in their texts they highlight that through his figurative paintings of landscapes, portraits, self-portraits and his famous men and women with voluminous bodies and small heads lacking features, López Sáenz managed to capture the very essence of the people of Sinaloa, but especially a nostalgic vision of the port of Mazatlan in the early decades of the 20th century.
