Summary:
Francisco Takaʺ Fernández (1966, Mexico City) has a special relationship with the collection of ESPAC, he is one of the best represented artists in the collection, with pieces that belong to the almost thirty years of artistic practice. His work has been part of the lines of research that Willy Kautz has developed over the years with the collection, including the exhibitions "PostNeoMexicanismos" (2017) and at the core "Concretismo lírico" of the project "El cordón umbilical retiniano"(2018). Rather than proposing an exhaustive review of his practice, this publication aims to serve as a network of recurring concepts and events in the artist's vast production. The "Takatrama", is a polyptych that varies according to the assembly, which loses and integrates works, and contains from drawings and magazine clippings to paintings on canvases. This ensemble offered us the possibility of thinking of publishing as a network of timeless networks: a fabric of technical procedures and conceptual strategies. Along with an extensive essay of Willy Kautz -the outcome of endless conversations and study visits-, The book brings together three types of visual materials: all the pieces that comprise the "Takatrama", documentary material from the artist's archive and other works belonging to the ESPAC collection.
