Summary:
Many people report an energy slump at work in the mid-afternoon. You can take steps to prevent these late-in-the-day energy lags, such as getting enough sleep at night, starting the day with breakfast, not eating a lot of sugar, drinking more water. However, research indicates that, for about 50% of people, taking an afternoon power nap improves energy and alertness for the rest of the day. In this course psychologist Eve Ash discusses practical strategies for overcoming the mid-afternoon energy slump, and maximizing the physical and cognitive benefits of a power nap.
