- Summary:
- "In this volume, the painted pottery of the 3rd millennium BC in Central Anatolia is treated in detail. The study gives an overview of its characteristics, its relative and absolute chronological position and its spatial distribution. Extensive material from numerous sites is presented for the first time. In addition, the finds from two excavations are included. At Mercimektepe in Yozgat, it was possible to examine a settlement where excellently preserved painted pottery of exceptional quality was found. Discussed in detail is also the unpublished Early Bronze Age material from the excavation of H. Çambel at Hashöyük near Kırsehir. The painted pottery of this site is characterized by the appearance of a wide and varied range of motifs"--Page 4 of cover.
