- The book rescues the debates and controversies held in the work of Mexican architecture during the 19th and 20th centuries through a historical investigation where the author points out differences, ruptures and constants that shaped the ideas and social, political and aesthetic positions of the aforementioned period. Through an in-depth analysis of the historical background, the author focuses on the debate about the theoretical and ideological principles defended by conservatives (traditionalists) and radicals (liberals and socialists), both from groups of architects and institutions, in the face of the political convulsions caused by the Revolution, social demand, academic training and the development of a national architecture towards modernity.
