Summary:

Where this episode begins, the Expedition has covered 10,000 of the 30,000 nautical miles planned, in about a year's sailing. Departing French Polynesia, the crew stops at several Pacific islands, many where Heloisa and Vilfredo have friends from previous voyages. The crew revisits Gavin Menzies' hypothesis that the fifth Chinese expedition's 100-boat fleet, under Admiral Zheng He, completed their Pacific voyage in about 4.5 months, averaging 4.8 knots. Others claim that the Chinese could not have averaged more than 3 knots. The crew travels at up to 18 knots. Along the way of investigating a story that at least one of the Chinese expeditions reached New Zealand, the family explores the caves of Tonga, and other Pacific island wonders. They hear recountings of Zheng He's admirable attitude of toleration and equitable treatment toward the religions he encountered en route-Islamic, Buddhist, Confucian, Taoist, and others.
