The basis for this film is the life story of the most remarkable person in Moldavian history, Prince Stephen the Great, who ruled as Prince of Moldavia from 1457 to 1504. The film tells a story of power and faith, betrayal and love. It tells a tale about this ruler who united the principality, strengthened the Orthodox faith and made modern Moldovans proud of their country.
