Summary:

ICEMSeD2022 was held on the 25th of May, 2022, with the theme "Mining Environment Mitigation, Education, and Sustainable Development." The scope of this conference covered Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Earth Science, Energy and Mining, Environmental Science, and Sustainable Development. It is an honor for us that ICEMSeD2022 was attended by speakers from various universities in Indonesia and abroad, including Universitas Negeri Padang; Universitas Indonesia; Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta; Andalas University, Padang; STIKES Dharma Landbouw Padang; Universitas Mulawarman Samarinda; University of Lampung; University of Bengkulu; Telkom University, Bandung; Universitas Sriwijaya, Palembang; Almuslim University, Bireun; Universitas Diponegoro; Universitas Negeri Malang; Padang Health Polytechnic; UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta; Mataram University; Institut Teknologi Sumatera, Lampung; IMT Atlantique, France; and Wuhan University of Technology, China. The resource persons at ICEMSeD2022 consisted of five people, namely Prof. Dr. Khairul Aidil Azlin B. Abd Rahman (Universiti Putra Malaysia), Dr. Eng. Sudarmanto Budi Nugroho (Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan), Assoc. Prof. Rebecca Fanany, Ph.D. (Central Queensland University, Australia), Jeffrey Mulyono Negoro (President Commissioner of Tura Consulting Indonesia and PT. Surya Satu Sejahtera), and Prof. Dr. Abdul Razak, S.Si., M.Si. (Universitas Negeri Padang). We thank the speakers for sharing their valuable expertise. We would also like to express our appreciation and gratitude to the organizing committee, the reviewers, and the editors for their kind assistance, precious time, and patience to conduct ICEMSeD2022 and ensure the high quality of the manuscripts. Finally, we hope that the proceedings from this international conference will be useful for researchers, lecturers and students, industry, and the government.
