Summary:

The retrospective of Jarbas Lopes (Nova Iguaçu, RJ 1964, lives and works in Maricá, Rio de Janeiro), is an overview of the thirty years of the artist's career, going through historical works, conceived in the 1990s, and installations made especially for this exhibition that seeks to emphasize the propositional and sensorial character of the work of Lopes, who stands out among the pioneers in the reflection on art and the environment. Other themes dear to the artist, such as life in the city, urban mobility, coexistence, popular festivals and suburban geometry, are also present in his work. The catalog presents a selection of more than 90 works that include: drawings, paintings, installations, photographs, prints, books and participatory proposals.
