Doctor and anatomist, professor of medicine at the Collège de France, elected to the Académie des sciences in 1742.

Summary:

Notes from the lectures of Antoine Ferrein at the College Royal de France in Paris, written by Jacques Postel, a student from Caen. The lectures on materia medica, now known as pharmacology, concern various categories of drugs, including sedatives, purgatives, diuretics, expectorants, and emollients and other topical treatments.
