Summary:
"WAG-Qaumajuq's exhibition "Tim Gardner: The Full Story" is a survey of the career of a noted artist with a penchant for capturing rambunctious and mischievous masculinity. Known for his watercolour paintings, Gardner also works in oils and pastels. His art practice embraces the warmth of the moment, whether that moment is on a basketball court or under the stars. A maestro of the urban and natural landscape, Gardner documents the everyday happenings of masculinity, family, and friendship. This catalogue features photography of the artwork, essays about the work, and an interview with the artist. Tim Gardner: The Full Story will be the first retrospective and the largest exhibition of Gardner’s work, spanning 30 years and featuring over 130 artworks. Works in the show will be drawn from public and private collections from across North America, along with an important group of works from the artist’s private collection. Many of the works in the exhibition have not been shown publicly. The exhibition will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue with essay contributions by several Canadian scholars."-- Provided by publisher.
