- Summary:
- In this case study, we discuss the use of a survey method to collect data on body image issues in women who identified as Amish, Catholic, or nonreligious. Through the survey method, we explored how religious affiliation and religiosity were associated with body image in women, particularly positive body image. In this case study, students will learn about the steps involved in conducting a survey study on body image issues in women, including choosing appropriate measures, recruiting participants with different lifestyles, and handling the inherent difficulties of conducting survey research with women who are college students and women from the community. Students will also learn about the merits and challenges of conducting survey research.
