- Summary:
- Mixed methods research consists of both qualitative and quantitative research, and its adoption is expanding worldwide. In this study, we explain why we chose case study-mixed method design to fully depict the experiences of three female adults who underwent cosmetic surgery and the effects that this had on their self-confidence and body image, as well as relief from psychological distress. Furthermore, this article depicts the application of a mixed methods approach, identifies gains and obstacles, and provides recommendations for further studies. Moreover, this study highlights implications for how a case study-mixed methods approach can provide more in-depth and comprehensive understanding of phenomenon within real-world settings.
