- In 1993 the Delhi Development Authority claimed that Kailash Nath Associates had failed to pay the agreed upon price within the stipulated period for a parcel of land in Delhi and thus the contract was void. The Delhi Development Authority proceeded to re-auction the land and forfeited the deposit that Kailash Nath Associates had already paid. This case teaches students about the application of the law on awarding damages in the event of a breach in contract.
