Summary:
This case exemplifies how we used the grounded analysis methodology to analyze qualitative interview data in a research project with women who have experienced lifelong violence. The focus is on describing the steps underlying the grounded analysis and on the identification of multiple discourses in the participants' life stories. In addition to the discourse related to victimization, alternative ones, such as the growth discourse based on perseverance and resistance, are also included. Finally, this case study provides some guidelines on how the grounded analysis methodology can be applied to data from victims' interviews.
