Summary:
Faculty with demanding teaching schedules can find opportunities for pedagogical research in their day-to-day teaching. In this case, I describe how I conducted a natural experiment in pedagogical techniques as part of my normal teaching load, and the challenges that accompanied that research. I discuss dilemmas and problems that occurred at each stage of the research, and how I overcame these problems. I conclude by reviewing what I learned from the process of conducting pedagogical research in the course of my normal teaching duties.
