- Summary:
- This case study describes a research process that incorporates mixed methods to evaluate environmental enforcement in the American states. As quantitative data analysis proved difficult because of a small sample, the researcher turned to rigorous qualitative approaches, in the form of case studies and interviews, to help supplement the quantitative analysis. The mixed-methods approach to this project proves useful, as including both qualitative and quantitative findings provided the clearest support for the researche?s hypothesis that environmental agencie? regulatory preferences are affected by their organizational choices.
