- Summary:
- The case study reflects the methodological core of my doctoral thesis. The research examines the interface between counter-terrorism measures of the Nigerian government and civil society organizations in the country. The study shows that the implementation of counter-terrorism measures of the Nigerian government is impinging on the operational capacity of civil society organizations in the country. This case study illuminates the importance of using the exploratory and explanatory research design, as well as the use of both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection and analysis. In particular, the exploratory design aided in understanding the sociopolitical and economic factors that influenced its emergence and implementation. In addition, the explanatory research design aided in understanding the causal relationship between the implementation of counter-terrorism measures and its influence on the civil society organizations. It helps us understand the responses of these organizations to counter-terrorism measures of the Nigerian government.
