- Summary:
- The aim of this case study is to provide a snapshot of my experiences of conducting in-depth qualitative interviews with bereaved families and coroners, as part of the fieldwork needed for my doctoral thesis. My thesis is concerned with the purpose of the U.K. inquest today and its emotional impact on the people touched by the process, with specific regard to the families of those killed on the roads in the United Kingdom. In considering my use of the in-depth interview, I highlight problems encountered along the way and the lessons I learned.
