- Summary:
- Displaced lands. Landscapes and Cultures in River South America goes through "crosses and mixtures not always noticed, which are accentuated over the centuries", in the words of its author, Graciela Silvestri. In the first part of this essay published by the National University of Entre Ríos, Silvestri introduces himself to the view that for centuries placed America as the horizon of Europe. The next, she addresses the colonial and Creole world as a contrast to the concept of "civilization." And finally, it is located in the sixties of the twentieth century. The prologue is in charge of José Emilio Burucúa and the illustrations are by Daniel García. The author is an architect graduated from the University of Buenos Aires and a doctor in History. She is a CONICET researcher and professor of Architecture Theory at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the National University of La Plata.
